High Sea View
Lower RHBay
High Sea View is one of those rare cottages in lower Robin Hood's Bay that has magnificent sea views from almost every window towards the north and Ness Point. Having undergone a recent part-refurbishment, the cottage offers compact but comfortable accommodation over four floors and benefits from a log-burning stove, comfortable lounge and that other rarity - a small garden. There are precious few cottages in the lower village that offer good sea views but, as the name suggests, High Sea View delivers them in abundance. In addition, the cottage occupies a corner plot and enjoys windows to both the front and side aspects resulting in a cottage that is flooded with light.
This property now accepts 2-night bookings as a minimum (during low and mid season, excl. school and bank holidays). For 2-night bookings, call us on 01947 810579 or email us on hello@ robinhoodsbaycottages.co.uk
During peak times, whole week bookings for this property are Saturday - Saturday
Lower Ground Floor
The entrance door leads directly into the kitchen which has a quarry tiled floor, a range of pine units with a Belfast sink and drainer, a gas cooker with a four-ring hob, a fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster and Dolce Gusto coffee machine. The kitchen is well stocked with crockery, cutlery and cookware and a window to the front elevation illuminates the room. For sit-down dining, and to complete the room, there is a pine table with chairs and a bench. Via a door at the back of the kitchen, a staircase leads up to the next floor.......
Upper Ground Floor
Stairs from the kitchen lead up to an open-plan lounge with stunning views out to sea and to Ness Point. The lounge has undergone full refurbishment in recent years. There are two comfortable sofas and a large footstool, a pine chest and a new stone fireplace with a log-burning stove at its focus. There is also a Smart TV on which you can access Netflix and Disney+ (your own accounts are required). Windows to both the front and side aspects of the cottage create a light and airy feel to this comfortable and stylish room and its height above street level means that you can relax in peace with more privacy. A further open staircase leads up......
First Floor
Stairs lead up to the second-floor landing, off which is a bedroom comprising a double/single white wood bunk bed with a double bed on the bottom and a single bed atop. This room also has a built-in cupboard with hanging space and an upholstered seat underneath the window. The window to the front aspect looks out over one of the most iconic cottages in the village and out over the sea. And, as if the view wasn't enough, there is also a TV with an Amazon firestick!
A final staircase leads up to the second floor landing.....
Second Floor
This final floor is home to a small double bedroom with a double cast-iron antique bed which faces the window to the front elevation with stunning views out to sea. There is a walk-in wardrobe cupboard with hanging space for your clothes.
Also on this floor is a compact but fully refurbished shower room. It is fully-tiled and comprises a WC, washbasin and shower cubicle. A neat little window looks out to Ness Point.
Outside
High Sea View is fortunate to have a small patio garden across the path, with garden furniture) and is perfect for a quiet read, a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. It affords a degree of privacy as it is surrounded by hedges and mature shrubs on most sides.
General
The overriding feature of High Sea Views is the breathtaking views that it affords over 3 of its 4 floors. There can only be a handful of cottages in the lower village that can boast such views (and we have 3 of the best!) and much of that is due to its height, each level having essentially the same view but better the further up you go. The cottage itself has all that you need for a perfect coastal break for a small family or a getaway with friends.
