If ever there was such a thing as the perfect holiday accommodation, Sea Fern has to come very close. And if you're looking for a peaceful place to stay, away from the crowds, then this is it. Sea Fern is a contemporary and very stylish home-from-home in the picturesque village of Fylingthorpe and is just a mile from Robin Hood's Bay and the beach. It sleeps 6 people in 3 delightful bedrooms and benefits from 2 bathrooms, a lounge, separate dining room, kitchen, rear garden with outdoor furniture, private parking for 2 cars and ample storage space for bikes, kayaks and wet suits...... and as if that wasn't enough, you can even bring your dog with you.

The accommodation comprises.....

Ground Floor

The entrance is down a short pathway from the road and the front door is at path level.
The entrance hall is light and spacious with ample room for boots, shoes and coats and an open area under the stairs for storing a pushchair or dog crate out of everyone's way. On the left is a door into a very comfortable lounge where a large corner sofa provides space enough for everyone. There is also an additional teal blue velvet 2-seater sofa and a large coffee table. Entertainment is provided by a large 50" Sony Smart TV, a Sony DVD player, Bose bluetooth speaker and WiFi. There are windows to the front and side aspects, lending light and added appeal.
Further down the entrance hall is the kitchen which comprises a large fridge freezer, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, Hotpoint electric fan oven and a 4-ring halogen hob. There is a useful breakfast bar with 2 stools - perfect for providing company (and maybe a glass of wine) for the cook. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need to cater for yourselves during your stay. For picnics or al fresco dining, the back door leads directly from the kitchen, down 2 steps and into the private garden.
Across the hallway is the dining room with a large oak table with 6 comfortable dining chairs, a matching sideboard and a tall book case. Double patio doors lead directly out into the rear garden.
The ground-floor shower room is beautifully fitted and boasts an enormous walk-in shower with a large rain-effect shower head, washbasin and WC. There is a large heated towel rail and a bathroom cabinet to house your toiletries.
Lastly on this floor is the master bedroom - a stunning room comprising a fabulous super-king bed with a padded headboard. This very spacious room also holds a double wardrobe, chest of drawers, full-length mirror and a lovely little 2-seater velvet sofa. This really is a lovely room and it has space, comfort and practicality in buckets.

First Floor

From the entrance hall, a carpeted staircase leads up to 2 further bedrooms and the second bathroom.
The first of these bedrooms comprises a white & oak king size frame bed with matching bedside tables and chest of drawers. There is also a single short wardrobe and a wicker chair. The last bedroom has 3 grey framed single beds with a bedside table and lamp between. Storage is provided by a short single wardrobe and a chest of drawers with a dressing mirror above. Both of these bedrooms have windows to the side elevations plus a large skylight in each, transforming and lifting these attic rooms into light airy spaces by day and warm cosy rooms by night. In between the two is the second bathroom, as beautifully fitted as the first. This one comprises a bath - perfect for bathing the little ones or soaking tired muscles after a long walk. The landing has a useful area that is out of the way of footfall and which will accommodate the whole family's suitcases.

Outside

There is a narrow garden to the front of Sea Fern with mature shrubs. The main garden is to the rear of the property and is mainly laid to lawn with mature shrubs and small trees. There is a spacious tiled patio area with outdoor furniture including a settee, 2 armchairs, 2 stools and a rise and fall table for dining. The garden is enclosed and private and is bordered by fence panels to the back. The very useful storage that the garage provides means that there is ample room to securely hold your bikes or water sports equipment.

General

Quite simply, Sea Fern is a breath of fresh air. There are clean lines, stylish decor and great attention to detail throughout and the whole is a beautiful place in which to experience a memorable holiday. The proximity of the beach and easy access to the Whitby-to-Scarborough cinder path make this a perfect base from which to explore the spectacular and scenic North Yorkshire coast and moors

Reviews

  • We have just returned home from our stay at the beautiful Sea Fern cottage near Robinhoods bay, the cottage was wonderful and the owner had thought about every attention to detail to make our stay feel home from home, our daughter loved the books and games we all loved to play together in the evenings. The location was perfect literally a stones throw away from the Bay and we visited so many places across the coast. Sainsburys and Aldi is also literally 5-10 minutes away it was the perfect base for a relaxing family break. We will be back again for sure we absolutely loved it

  • What a fantastic newly decorated, spacious cottage. My friend and I stayed for a weekend - we came up to do a sauna and sunrise sea dip session at Robin Hoods Bay. Was just fabulous. Great location, easy walk down to the Bay over the fields or on the road and the cottage is situated with easy access to both the Cinder Path and Cleveland Way, no need to get the car out for fab biking and walking. We enjoyed a fabulous walk during our stay and will be back to explore more as a ladies group - there is so much to do! Will also return with my family. Great storage in a lockable garage for bikes, paddleboards, surf boards etc. Loads of parking as well. Loved the place, great for teenagers as so much space. Well done on transforming and breathing new life into the property.

  • Property was very clean and well equipped. Location good for walks and cycling from the house with easy access to moors an dales by car. Also on bus route between Whitby and Scarborough.
