Primrose Cottage is located close to the Dock area and is just 80 yards from the beach. It has contemporary style, whilst retaining some lovely original features. It benefits from having 2 patios, 1 of which offers outstanding views across the bay.

The front door opens directly into a spacious lounge comprising painted floorboards and large hessian rugs, 2 large leather sofas, a feature 'french literature' coffee table, TV with Freesat, DVD and CD player. There is also a leather armchair by the window with a reading lamp and occasional table if you prefer to sit away on your own for a while. The lounge is completed by moody lamps and a very efficient coal-effect gas fire.

Across the hallway from the lounge is a very practical kitchen/diner, recently refitted with modern units, oak worktops and a Belfast sink. There is a fridge with icebox compartment, a 4-ring electric ceramic hob, electric oven, toaster, washer-dryer and bluetooth speaker. The cupboards are stocked with ample crockery, cookware, cutlery and utensils. At the far end of the kitchen is an attractive table of reclaimed wood with an old church pew and chairs for family dining. A microwave and an under-counter freezer are housed separately in a walk-in cupboard

From the ground floor, stairs rise to the first floor where there are 3 bedrooms and a bathroom.

Bedroom 1: The master bedroom has a lovely double cast iron bed with king-size quilt, a gentleman's wardrobe, antique chest of drawers, feature fireplace (non-working), original exposed and polished floorboards and a CD player. 

Bedroom 2: This bedroom has a double leatherette bed, gentleman's wardrobe, feature fireplace (also non-working), bookshelves and original exposed floorboards. The window to the front elevation allows lovely views over Marnardale.

Bedroom 3: Comprises unusual bunk beds with a 4' bottom bunk (suitable for an older child or a couple) and a 3' upper bunk. There is an antique chest of drawers upon which is a TV for use with VCR only. The window to the side elevation has shutters and there are original exposed floorboards. There is a further in this room which leads directly out to the private steps that run up the side of the cottage.

The bathroom is spacious and stylish with a large bath with 'rain'-effect shower over, toilet and large washbasin. The walls are an eclectic and pleasing mix of blue 'brick'tiles, exposed sandstone and original stripped timber panelling.

There is a small and sheltered terrace with a wooden bench for catching the afternoon sun. It is advisable not to allow young children onto this terrace. The second is a little further up the steps and through a garden gate which leads to the top of the hill and the most magnificent view of the entire bay across to the Ravenscar headland. This terrace has a woodchip base and magnificent scenery. Please be aware that both terraces are accessed up a flight of stone steps (40 in total) which require a degree of care, particularly on the way down! It is advisable not to allow young children onto the small terrace.

Primrose cottage has gas-fired central heating throughout and instant hot water from the combi-boiler. Bed linen, towels and t-towels are provided but you are requested to bring further towels for use outside the cottage. One pet allowed by negotiation. There is a parking permit for 1 car for the council (SBC) car parks in the upper village.
