Please read below for updated information regarding parking in both lower and upper Robin Hood's Bay....
Fisherhead Car Park (lower Robin Hood's Bay)
The owners of Fisherhead car park have installed an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system which will go live on 1st July 2025.
This is the only car park in lower Robin Hood's Bay and is privately owned and managed. You cannot park there without a red disc permit. If the cottage you have booked has a Fisherhead parking permit, you are now required to enter your vehicle details and the dates of your stay using the QR code that is located in the cottage. You must also display the red disc permit in your windscreen (which will also be in the cottage) for the duration of your stay. It is important to note that you will have a grace period of only 15 minutes between entering the car park and submitting your details via the QR code so please ensure that you have all of the necessary information to hand.
Please do not remove the QR code from the cottage.
At the end of your stay, you must return the red disc permit to the cottage. If a permit is lost or taken in error, it cannot be replaced.
Please note that camper vans, minibuses and trade vans over half a ton are not allowed to park in Fisherhead.
To find Fisherhead Car Park, drive down the hill into the lower village, passing The Laurel Inn on your left and Muir Lea Stores on your right. Shortly after the stores, turn right through the farm gate on the bend. Drive up the hill and straight on into the farmyard to park.
Please note that we are not agents for Fisherhead car park. The information here is offered in good faith but may be subject to change without notice. We cannot be held responsible for changes, repairs or closures to this facility. You should enquire about the terms and conditions when you purchase a permit.
North Yorkshire Council Car Parks (upper Robin Hood's Bay)
There are 2 car parks in the upper village that are owned and managed by North Yorkshire Council (NYC). One is at the top of Bay Bank opposite The Victoria Hotel. The other much larger one is situated further up the village opposite The Grosvenor Hotel. Charges apply in both car parks (except between 1st November - 28th February when the Council usually covers the pay meters).
You can EITHER purchase a pass from Baytown Stores (200 metres further up the road) OR you can pay by using the RingGo app. There are significant reductions in the price if you use the RingGo app.
If you have any more questions about parking in upper Robin Hood's Bay (but not Fisherhead), please call Baytown Stores on 01947 880202 or email them on [email protected].
