The Nook is a delightful 1-bedroomed cottage set over 3 floors with lovely views from the bedroom window across the bay towards Ravenscar. It offers light & airy yet cosy accommodation. The bedroom is quite beautiful and the comfortable lounge is on the first floor, conveniently elevated above the street for peace and privacy. The cottage's location on King Street is just metres from the beach and allows for easy access and unloading.

The accommodation comprises.......

Ground Floor

The entrance to The Nook is via a small yard off King Street and is the first of 3 cottages there. The front door leads directly into the kitchen and dining area with a compact but fully-equipped hand-made kitchen with laminate flooring. There is a full size electric oven with grill, a 2-ring halogen hob, under-counter fridge with a small ice compartment, microwave oven, kettle and toaster. It is well stocked with utensils, crockery and cookware. Away from the kitchen is a pine table and chairs for formal dining and these sit by the main window looking out on to King Street. To complete the cosiness of this room, an upholstered fireside chair sits in front of an original cast-iron & tiled open fire. There is also a large understairs cupboard with ample room for coats and boots.
A wide, shallow staircase takes you up to the first floor......

First Floor

The first-floor lounge has a lovely warmth and cosiness to it yet stays beautifully light in the morning sun. There is a leather sofa and matching armchair, plenty of cushions and throws, an electric stove-effect fire, flat screen TV and DVD player, a good selection of DVDs, games and books and, of course, WiFi. The room is carpeted and has a window overlooking King Street.
Also on this floor is a delightful partially-tiled bathroom with a full-length bath with a hand shower, wash basin and WC. There is a heated towel rail, a large mirror and pine shelf unit.
A further staircase leads up to the second floor.......

Second Floor

The bedroom in this cottage is a winner! There is a pine bed, two chests of drawers and a small built-in wardrobe. There is also a useful dressing table with a stool and a large mirror, an electric fan and a CD player. Windows on both sides of the room make for a bright and airy space but the piece de resistance is the full-length and fully-upholstered window seat with lots of cushions and a fabulous view across the bay towards Ravenscar; perfect for a morning coffee or a relaxing retreat with a good book. This very pleasant room is well thought out and makes excellent use of space.
Overall, The Nook is a well-maintained little cottage with good quality fixtures and fittings and aesthetically-pleasing decor.

Reviews

  • We had a fantastic stay at the Nook cottage! A perfect size for couples and an cosy electric fire to warm up by in the evening! It was within 5 minutes walk of all local pubs and amenities which made things so easy for us in the evening. We have had a fantastic Valentine’s Day here and would definitely stay again!

  • Great accommodation. Well equipped & good location with harbour view from lounge & bedroom. Lovely comfy bed & all exceptionally clean. Would be happy to stay at The Nook again if we come back to Robins Hood Bay.

  • Cosy stay for 2. Well equipped and quirky. Spread over 3 floors, this little cottage is right in the heart of the lower bay village. The bed is divine and the view down the street to the quay is picture perfect.
