Situated in an ideal location at the heart of Robin Hood's Bay, it is the perfect getaway for singles or couples seeking a quality, tranquil retreat. Newly decorated to exude a cheerful, bright decor with more than a nod to French chic, Bolthole Cottage is a cosy, compact space spanning two floors. It features Yorkshire sash windows, wooden flooring, unique antique furnishings, beautiful linens. The property also offers WiFi, gas central heating, a shower room with a heated towel rail, a king-sized sleigh bed and a first-floor living space.

Outside, there is a sunlit outdoor terrace for you to sit back, relax, and enjoy a barbecue.

Please be respectful that this is a pet-free and non-smoking property.

Entrance and Access

The Bolthole is accessed directly from the street, just behind The Old Drapery Shop on New Road at the bottom of Bay Bank. The shower room and bedroom are both on the ground floor and the living area is accessed by a narrow staircase. Unfortunately, this makes it unsuitable for wheelchair-users or those with mobility impairments.

Ground Floor

From the entrance door, a narrow corridor leads to the bedroom with its imposing king-size white wood sleigh bed and crisp cotton linens. The walls are adorned with numerous framed black and white prints, all depicting seaside images. There are Yorkshire sash windows to the front aspect overlooking New Road and the exposed beams and wood floor complete the picture.
Adjacent to the bedroom is the shower room which comprises a corner shower cubicle, WC and a stone washbasin above a white wooden cupboard unit.

First Floor

A narrow staircase leads up to the main open-plan living area on the first floor. This beautifully styled room has wide oak floorboards contrasted with clean white walls and sloping ceilings. It comprises a comfortable 2-seat sofa, a drop-leaf dining table with 2 easy rattan chairs, a snug corner with an individual upholstered chair and a kitchenette comprising fridge, hot plate, microwave (with oven feature) and toaster. Please be mindful that the cooking facilities are limited so extensive cooking is not always practical. However, with just a little imagination it's quite possible to fully self-cater. Entertainment is provided by a sound system and there is a good selection of books, CDs and games.

Outside

Directly accessed from the living area is a long narrow terrace which captures the early afternoon sun. It has a bistro table and chairs and gas barbeque.

General

The attention to detail is second to none. This compact and bright little getaway has a wealth of quirks and curios and it's chic decor singles it out as a stylish and sought-after place to stay.
This property will accept 2 night bookings during low and mid season, excluding school and bank holidays. If you're interested in a 2 night booking, please call us on 01947 810579 or email us on [email protected]

Reviews

  • Contacted Robin Hoods bay cottages Ltd last minute wanting a two day getaway break for my wife and I. Was emailed back straight away and dealt with Rosie who handled our booking. Communication was excellent and was able to be accommodated with a one bedroom property (Bolthole)for two nights at very short notice. Information on accessibility and details about the property were very good. The cottage was as described, immaculate and catered for our two night stay. I've been using Robin Hoods bay cottages Ltd for years and won't use anyone else to arrange a stay in the beautiful bay. Not been for a while due to ongoing health issues but it was great to be back. Thanks to Rosie for accommodating us and we look forward to booking again soon.
