Located in a quiet corner of the old village of Robin Hood’s Bay, this cosy fisherman's cottage offers peace and tranquillity away from the hustle and bustle of the main thoroughfares. It boasts delightful views over the pantiled rooftops of the village and has a pretty raised patio with barbecue which captures the afternoon and evening sun.
This property will accept 2 night bookings during low and mid season, excluding school and bank holidays. If you're interested in a 2 night booking, please call us on 01947 810579 or email us on [email protected]

Entrance is from Tommy Baxter Street directly into the ground-floor living space. Typical of most cottages in the old village, the ground floor comprises the lounge, dining area and kitchen all in one room. There are two upholstered 2-seater sofas and a pine table with 4 chairs. In addition to full central heating, this room boasts an open fire which is suitable for either logs or coal and perfect for cosy TV nights in, whatever the weather. Although Auburn Cottage doesn't have a cooker, it does have a 2-ring electric hob, an air fryer, a combination microwave oven, an under-counter fridge with a small freezer compartment, and a kettle and toaster. The staircase up to the first floor is steep and open-tread and requires a degree of care, particularly when descending.First Floor

The window to the front elevation has lovely open views over the rooftops and across to Fisherhead and The Old School House. Also on this floor is the bathroom which comprises a full-size bath with a shower screen and an electric shower over, a large washbasin and WC. As you approach the top of this staircase, the dormer window to the rear of the cottage affords a fabulous view right across the sea to the Ravenscar headland. The staircase opens directly into the spacious attic bedroom which has a low-level double bed under the eaves, a large built-in storage cupboard, a pine chest and a flat-screen TV. To the front elevation is a large dormer window with an extensive window seat with plenty of cushions and delightful views over the pantiled rooftops of the village. There is a good selection of games and books throughout the cottageOutside
Just outside the front door and across the path is a private patio, accessed via 4 stone steps. Raised above the level of the street and with a low wall around it, the patio has a garden bench, wooden table and 2 rustic garden chairs. Along with the brick-built barbecue at the rear of the patio, this is the perfect place to take advantage of the afternoon and evening sun and a spot of al fresco dining. If you go down the stairs to the right hand side of the patio, you will find 3 cupboards on the left. The middle cupboard can be used for storage of surfboards, body boards and other beach equipment.
