Access and Entrance

Sherwood Cottage is located on the corner of Chapel Street and King Street. There is vehicular access right up the door via King Street but please note that you will have to reverse all the way back down King Street which is narrow and on a hill.

Ground Floor

The entrance door from Chapel Street takes you directly into the cottage with just a single step down into the welcoming lounge and dining area. There is a small porch area with space for shoes and hanging pegs for coats.
The lounge has a large and comfortable corner sofa unit with throws and cushions galore with a white coffee table & matching sideboard upon which is a free-standing flat-screen TV. To complete the room, the dining area has an oak top dining table with 2 dining chairs and 2 benches. The log-burning stove is a must on those stormy winter nights and provides a cosy focal point. The 2 large windows looking out to see and the partial open aspect to the front of the cottage afford lovely views and provide a fresh and airy feel to the room.
Unlike most cottages in the old village, the kitchen in Sherwood Cottage is separate to the lounge and is a lovely and practical space in which to prepare meals. Newly-fitted, it comprises an electric oven, 4-ring gas hob, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle and toaster.

First Floor

From the lounge, a staircase takes you up to the first floor where there are 2 bedrooms, a family bathroom and a separate cloakroom.
The master bedroom has a window on the seaward aspect and a more elevated view across the water. There is a double bed with bedside tables, lamps and a white chest of drawers. The walk-in cupboard provides ample hanging space and extra shelves.
The twin room comprises two full-width single beds with a central bedside table and lamp. A pine chest of drawers and a built-in wardrobe cupboard are more than sufficient for your needs. The window in this room looks out onto Chapel Street.
The family bathroom is a real delight, having a roll-top bath, a separate shower cubicle, WC and washbasin with a vanity unit below and a small window which looks out over the sea.
Also on this floor is a separate WC with a small hand washbasin and an unique feature coastal wall painting.

Second Floor

From the first-floor landing, a very narrow staircase leads up to the attic bedroom which houses a comfortable double bed, a white chest of drawers with matching bedside tables and lamps and a window looking out to sea. Please note - guests need to be aware that there is limited head-height and a low beam in this room.

General

Sherwood Cottage has a really lovely seaside feel about it and the sea views from most windows only emphasise that you're really on holiday. It's an equally good choice for a summer holiday, an out-of-season break or a great place to storm watch from in the winter months, especially when there's a log fire to come home to.
