Cinder Bike Hire
A fabulous new addition to Robin Hood’s Bay, Cinder Bike Hire is based on Station Road in Upper Bay and offers e-bikes, mountain bikes and children's bikes to suit all ages. Find them on Facebook for more details.
Dalby Forest
Nestled in the North York Moors National Park, Dalby Forest covers an area of over 8,000 acres of mixed deciduous woodland. Just a stone's throw from Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay, Dalby Forest offers a number of activities including:
- Go Ape - Tree top adventure and tree top junior - an exhilarating and fun event for all the family.
- Horse Riding
- Disc Golf
- Bike Hire - ideal for either a gentle ride around the turning paths of the forest or for something more challenging.
- Walking, running and cycling trails through the forest's valleys and uplands.
- Events - from music gigs to stargazing.
Open all year round from 8am to 8pm. Visitor centre opening hours are 9:30am – 5pm March – October and 9am – 4pm November – February.
Parking charges range from £3 for 1 hour up to £15 for the full day per car.
The Carrs, Ruswarp
Mini Monsterz is an indoor soft play area located on The Carrs in Ruswarp and offers a range of slides, ball pits, climbing frames and a climbing wall for the more
adventurous. Great to keep your little ones entertained on a rainy day.

Perry’s Garden Centre – located just outside Sleights, Perry’s is a small independent garden centre with a pretty riverside tea garden with indoor and outdoor seating. Open March to September (exact dates vary from year to year).
Danby Lodge National Park Centre
Nestled in the heart of the North York Moors, the Danby Lodge Centre is the perfect place to let the kids run loose. The fabulous new rustic playpark with zip line, mud-kitchen and garden games is a great place to spend a couple of hours. There are ample picnic benches so bring your own food or make use of the on-site café. Watch out for the dragon!
