Ingleby House - The Annex
Lower RHBay
Step back in time with these two delightful apartments in the well-known and much-loved Ingleby House, located at the bottom of King Street in the dock area of the village. This apartment is known as The Annex, sleeping 2 people and occupying the 2nd and 3rd floors of Ingleby House. The price for the Annexe is £90 per night.
(The other apartment is The Studio and can be viewed by clicking here).
Access to The Annex is via the front door directly from King Street which leads into a short hallway and a staircase up to the 2nd floor entrance.
On entering the apartment, there is a small hallway and a door to the left which leads into an open-plan kitchen, lounge and dining area, the latter of which affords stunning views directly out to sea. The imposing old fireplace is the focal point of this room and invites you to light a fire and cosy up on the big old sofa to watch a movie. The small kitchenette is well-stocked for its size and provides guests with an electric cooker with 4-ring electric hob, a small under-counter fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle, cafetière, stainless steel sink & drainer and a good stock of crockery, cutlery and cookware. (Please note there is no microwave).
Sitting down for breakfast at the old pine table with its magnificent view across the scars and directly out to sea should be on everyone's bucket list. Despite being on the 2nd floor from King Street, you will be confused to discover that you are at ground-level at the back of the apartment! The private entrance from the lounge opens to a shared pathway leading onto both King Street and the sea wall and the sea beyond. Also on this floor is a separate shower room with a gloriously old-fashioned step-in shower, washbasin & WC.
A staircase from the lounge leads up to a bright and spacious bedroom with a built-in bespoke bed from which to while away lazy mornings listening to the waves. There is a Smart TV in this room too plus a useful vanity washbasin, a chest of drawers and an old rocking chair. The piece de resistance is the table and chairs which overlooks the entire bay to the south, taking in the Ravenscar headland, the beach, cliffs and Fylingdales Moor. Imagine an early morning coffee with the sun glistening on the sea........ or maybe an evening glass of wine with the moon over the bay.
