Glen Studio The village of Raw
A delightful wooden cabin set in an idyllic location in the tiny hamlet of Raw, looking out towards Robin Hood's Bay. Glen Studio is not for the faint-hearted but offers peaceful sanctuary for walkers, artists, writers or anyone wishing to escape to the tranquility of rural life. There is a small cottage garden with its own sitting area, surrounded by fields frequented by roe deer, foxes, badgers, rabbits and an abundance of wild birds. Well-behaved dogs are welcomed and there are fantastic walks from the doorstep.
AccessGlen Studio is accessed at the end of a narrow lane which culminates in a small turning arm suitable for small and medium sized cars only. A small wooden gate opens into the cottage garden and a short gravel path leads to the front door.....
Glen StudioThe front door leads directly into the main studio room lounge area with polished wooden floorboards, a futon sofa with occasional tables and a drop-leaf dining table and chairs. There is a small flat-screen TV with DVD player and an excellent selection of local books, walking guides, tide tables, maps and books. Set to one side of the lounge is a double divan bed and the large picture windows in the room provide ample light and afford lovely open views over the countryside.A door to the side of the main room leads into a small but well-equipped kitchenette which has a small stone sink, a table-top cooker with a 2-ring electric hob on top and a small oven/grill below. There is also an under-counter fridge with a small freezer compartment, a kettle and a toaster.A door to the rear of the main room leads into a spacious bathroom which runs the length of the cabin. There is a lovely old bath, deep enough to soak away the aches and pains of a long walk, a washbasin, a high-flush WC, electric wall heater and a drying rack.Although Glen Studio does not have central heating, there are adequate electric fan heaters and plug-in oil-filled radiators.
